French Dog Merlot

ORIGIN:

Protected Geographical Indication - Aude

TYPE OF SOIL :

Predominantly clay and silt on the hillsides and valleys of the Aude region

GRAPE VARIETIES :

100 % Merlot

WINEMAKING TECHNIQUES :

The healthy, crushed and destemmed harvest is vinified in the traditional manner. Fermentation and maceration take place at a controlled temperature, with maceration for approximately one week. Final blend integrates oaky merlot, giving roasted and vanilla hints.

TASTING NOTES :

Visual : Deep brilliant raspberry colour, with purple rim

Nose : A pronounced nose with fruity (black plum and blackberry) and vanilla notes.

Palate : Well-rounded palate,  gourmand and fruity. That wine reveals delicious aromas of red fruits and chocolate.

SERVING SUGGESTION

Ready to drink now, this wine is best enjoyed at room temperature (18°C) to accompany a meal outside, a platter of charcuterie meats, grilled meats or a pasta meal. You can also serve it more fresh for aperitif.
